III SAVE POSIDONIA PROJECT FORUM. SMART SUSTAINABILITY. Smart Sustainability for the Recovery of Tourism and the Preservation of the Territory

Save Posidonia Project, led by the Consell of Formentera, continues to be an example of tourism management based on sustainability and public-private collaboration. The success achieved in previous editions suggests a third edition with professionals of international scope who, without a doubt, will continue to accompany Formentera on its path towards sustainability.
In a year in which the sector will still be marked by the adverse effects of the pandemic, the format of the forum will be highly innovative. Likewise, it will have a “hybrid” character (face-to-face and online) broadcast by “streaming” giving coverage at a national and international level.
The forum will have the participation of companies from the tourism sector, public entities, research centers and universities, environmental and technology companies and NGOs, among others.
During the celebration of the forum, we will discuss the protection of the posidonia habitat, seeking its conservation and growth. Likewise, we will see how obtaining data and measuring it are key to developing the island of Formentera in a smart and sustainable way.
We will learn about the Tourist Intelligence System developed by the Insular Council, as well as its model for managing load capacity and mitigating the environmental impact caused, mainly, by tourist activity.
On the other hand, we will delve into aspects such as green technologies, carbon neutral territories, the need to measure, reduce, compensate and certify the carbon footprint in destinations and companies or the innovative island markets for CO2 Emissions.

CITCA 2021. New Scenarios: Reinventing Cruise Tourism
CITCA 2021 is the continuation of the great work started in 2020 by the Association of Ports of Andalusia, SUNCRUISE. The Association placed Andalusian ports on the international map by holding the first in-person conference on cruise ships in 2020, which served to reinforce the relationship between ports and the territory, sustainability and accessibility of cruise tourism. Furthermore, as it was a hybrid congress (face-to-face / online) it had global reach and impact.
CITCA 2021 focuses on the cruise passenger and the smart infrastructures necessary to meet their needs and those of the operators. It will deal with the need to connect ports with “friendly” destinations, prioritizing quality vs. quantity, developing the concept of luxury on a cruise ship, the reality of shipping companies after a year marked by Covid or the engineering and design necessary to guarantee the sustainable future of the industry.
The year 2021 is presented for the world of cruises as a year of transition, preparation and reflection, which will lead us to the rebirth of a new era of much more sustainable, technological, safe and accessible cruises.
Likewise, CITCA 2021 will continue to consolidate the image and brand positioning of SUNCRUISE Andalusia within the international cruise industry.
